Bollywood Bride

                                                               Bollywood Bride!

I created this bollywood bride look taking different ideas from a few pictures of brides from online. It was for students in my college doing a photoshoot to show off their hair! The model was someone that one of the students brought into the college for a day, I'm sure she felt pampered. :)

I'm very happy with the outcome of this look, the client was delighted which always makes the hard work worth it!

Fancy trying it for yourself? Instructions below! :)

For the eye makeup I started with a white base colour and put it all over the eyelid, up to the eyebrow. I then took a light shade of brown from my Urban Decay, Naked palette and defined the socket line with it.

For the outter parts of the eyes, I took a darker shade of brown and using an angled brush I drew a straight line, following the natural eyelash line, and brought it up towards the end of the eyebrow. I then blended the darker shade of brown into the lighter shade so that it now connected.

Afterwards I filled the corner part of the eye with black, and blended the colours together, then took a gold cream eyeshadow and applied it to the middle of the eyelid and added a little purple near the end of the eyelash line for a little colour! To make the false eyelashes appear more natural, I applied liquid eyeliner along the lash line.

To Finish, I put a little white eyeshadow on the inner parts of the eyes. This makes the eyes appear brighter and larger along with some beautiful eyelashes and black mascara.

For the rest of the face you can simply apply your foundation whatever way suits you best, add a little blusher, highlighter and bronzer and some amazing red lipstick. There you have it!

Complete with some gems and earrings to dazzle things up!

Fantasy / Alien Look

I did this alien look for my fantasy / bald cap assignment. My poor boyfriend does not look amused...
First of all I made the bald cap to fit his head.
For the 3D parts on the head, I layered latex over sculpted pieces made from clay and once they were ready, I stuck them onto the bald cap after it was applied with spirit gum.

To colour the look I used an airbrush with different shades of blue and purple paint, and added little details with white paint and there we have it, voilĂ !

Snow Queen

Snow Queen Makeup look, inspired by the weather!

"A flake of snow in flurry thro’ the air
Had landed as a kiss upon my cheek:
                                           A secret message, just for me to share;
To take to heart but never dare to speak"

Wee Introduction!

                                                  Hello, my dearies!

My name is Simone Burns. I am currently doing a course in Theatrical and Special Effects Makeup and Hair, I've always been an artistic person and as I grew older and more aware of the world of makeup, I became facinated by all the different things you can do with it! So, I decided that I shall venture onto the internet to explore makeup in a whole new way . I look forward to seeing all your wonderful work and hearing all your ideas and opinions! Thanks for visiting :)

I don't believe that makeup is everything in the world of beauty, you do not need it to be 'pretty', although I do believe it emphasis what already makes you beautiful.
