Terry Bradley Makeup Design

Terry Bradley, Artist - Interesting makeup design?

My take on Terry Bradley's piece, 'Rock'.
Since my first years of school I've always been into art. I'm still an amateur, but that doesn't stop the love I have for drawing, painting and, er, attempting oil pastels and chalks. (Tricky buggers, they are!)

Once I started GCSE art, I descovered more and more artists that were simply amazing and inspiring. One that has always stuck in my mind was Terry Bradley. I simply adored his style and how he can potray his character's attitudes simply though his colours and simplisted lines. They look simple enough... but trust me, they're really not! His paintings are so full of love and effort.

I thought to myself that it would be interesting to combine one of his art pieces and a makeup design. I'd love to see one of his pieces come to life. So this will definitely be a future project of mine.

The design plan would probably be along the lines of this.

For the hair I'd have pin curls, and one little curl coming down onto the forehead. For the colours on the face, I think using an airbrush would be best and use normal face paints for the little details like the hearts, mole and details on the nose, eyebrows and upper lip.

I'd then finish the look with some eyeliner and purple / black eyelashes and possibly add the tattoo if I was going to have the model in the same position as the character in the original painting.

I look forward to working on this, it's going to be so much fun!
